-
Hips to obtain the full hip dimension all the way around
Sizing has changed considerably over the decades, so it is important to understand that vintage sizing varies greatly to modern sizing.
We provide detailed information on the sizing of each and every item we sell on our website. This includes the actual size specified on the clothing label (if any), as well as an approximate modern UK size comparison for your reference only. It is important to note that the approximate UK size we provide is merely an estimate and is to be used purely as a guide.
It is important that you check the approximate MEASUREMENTS that we provide for each piece and compare them to an item of clothing that you already own. That way you can compare and determine how the item will fit on you.
The following tables are based on standard modern sizing and are here as a general guide for your convenience.
It is your responsibility to check the approximate measurements we provide for each individual piece we sell in order to better understand the size of the item and how it is likely to fit you.

FOOTWEAR
It is important to note that all footwear
measurements are taken from the outside of the shoe – this includes the length
and width of the sole.
The length of the sole is always measured
at the longest point, while the width of the sole is always measured at the
widest point.
With regard to boots, we always provide
the leg height – this is measured from the bottom of the rear counter (i.e.
above the heel) to the very top of the boot.
